Christian Faculty and Staff Network gathering on 4/13 - Continuing with Chapter 8, Taking Steps in Practical Disciplines

On 4/13, think about Philippians 4:13: "I can do all things through Him [Christ] who strengthens me." 

Join us on Wednesday, April 13, at 11:45 AM (done by 12:45 PM). We meet at the Baptist Campus Ministries building library (University Boulevard and 4th Avenue), and lunch will be served!

Phil Bishop, Cru's regional faculty representative, will lead our session on April 13. We'll meet in the Baptist Campus Ministry's conference room.

Lunch is provided by churches in the area.

  • It's $1 per meal, the best meal deal in town. You're welcome to be eating your lunch during the gathering.
  • You have the choice of paying by the meal or making a single payment to cover the semester.

Coming up 

  • Trillia Newbell’s call will be on April 20. We'll Zoom with her from the Baptist Campus Ministry's conference room. Trillia is the author of the book we’re discussing, Sacred Endurance: Finding Grace and Strength for a Lasting Faith.
  • On April 27, our own Bill Keel will share thoughts on faith, astronomy, and science toward the end of the term. We'll meet in the Baptist Campus Ministry's conference room again.

UA Christian Staff and Faculty Fellowship - Chapter 4 - Making a difference; and don't forget the book survey, 4/7

If Christians are informing their scholarship with their faith, what would that look like and what difference would it make? Christian Faculty and Staff Fellowship meets November 28

  I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and enjoyed the time off. We'll resume on 11/28 with a visit by Jennifer Waddell , Athletes in Action , thanks to Phil Bishop.   Next semester's book: Love Your God with All Your Mind: The Role of Reason in the Life of the Soul by J.P. Moreland (NavPress, 2011). The title is linked to Amazon. Make sure to get the 2012 version. It's an updated version of the book from 1997. Moreland makes the case for the intellectual appeal and rigor of Christianity. It has a cultural, worldview, and apologetics outlook and is relevant to us who want to be salt and light in the groves of academe. The book can be a basis for other readings we would do.   Looking ahead: I came across this announcement for the Dallas Conference on Science and Faith in January 2019 .
