Christian Faculty and Staff Fellowship meets October 31

We'll resume on October 31. Is it the end of October already? Wow, seems like only yesterday we were watching Tua throw that winning TD pass. Then again, it really was only yesterday since Alabama fans have probably watch that highlight every day this year!   Come to the Christian Faculty Network lunch meeting on Wednesday, October 31 at 11:45 AM (done by 12:45 PM). We meet at the Baptist Campus Ministries building (University Boulevard and 4th Avenue).   It's also the best meal deal in town: You can get lunch there for $1 thanks to the generosity of local churches. Don't forget to thank the church workers for what they do for the students.   When we meet on October 31, Bob Brooks will give a discipline talk. It promises to be enlightening. He gave us a preview on 10/24, and it promises to spark a great discussion.   Today was a big day in the history of the church: ·          1517 Martin Luther nailed hi...

Christian Faculty and Staff Fellowship meets October 24

Guess what? I goofed. I thought the BCM building would be closed on October 24 because it was the first day of Fall Break. It will actually be open, but the catch is they won't have one of the $1 lunches. We'll have to brown bag it.   For those who want to meet, I will be there at the usual time: 11:45 PM. We'll keep it low key so we can get to know each other a little more. Don't forget to bring your own lunch that day.   Many thanks to Lori for leading the discussion on Chapter 7, the last chapter, of our book.   More importantly, Lori White passed this news to me. Susan and Nathan Dendy welcomed Livi Joy Dendy (UA 2040) on October 11, 2018. At 20 inches, Livi weighed 6 lbs, 10 oz. Susan and Livi are doing famously, and all thank you for your prayers.   These things happened today. ·          1826 Ann Hasseltine Judson died. As a missionary in Burma with her husband, Adoniram, she was one of the first A...

Christian Faculty and Staff Fellowship meets on October 17

Welp, time to bang the drums for another Christian Faculty Network lunch meeting on Wednesday, October 17 at 11:45 AM (done by 12:45 PM). We meet at the Baptist Campus Ministries building (University Boulevard and 4th Avenue).  It's also the best meal deal in town: You can get lunch there for $1 thanks to the generosity of local churches. Don't forget to thank the church workers for what they do for the students.  On 10/10, we enjoyed a special guest. Dr. Bruce Little, Retired Senior Professor of Philosophy and Director of the Francis A. Schaeffer Collection at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary shared with us about the Francis Schaeffer Society and Collection.  For our 10/17 meeting, Lori White will guide discussion on Chapter 7. This is the last chapter of the book. Whoa - did it go that fast?  Not to worry. Lots more coming up. We'll have a discipline talk and some guest speakers.  PLEASE NOTE: No meeting on 10/24. It's the day before the fall ...
