Join us on Wednesday, March 2, at 11:45 AM (done by 12:45 PM). We meet at the Baptist Campus Ministries building library (University Boulevard and 4th Avenue), and lunch will be served!

Lunch is provided by churches in the area.

  • It's $1 per meal, the best meal deal in town. You're welcome to be eating your lunch during the gathering.
  • You have the choice of paying by the meal or making a single payment to cover the semester.

Trillia Newbell, author of Sacred Endurance, is scheduled to join us via Zoom on 3/9 for a Q&A session about the ideas behind her book. It will be a Q&A session. If you have a question you'd like to ask, reply back to me, and I'll put it on the list. I will send questions by next weekend for her to look over for discussion on the Zoom call. 

Phil Bishop, Cru's regional faculty representative, will lead our session on April 13. 

Think about it 

Our meeting date is also the start of Lent. The CS Lewis Institute has a webinar on 2/25 with Cambridge Chaplain Malcolm Guite on how to prepare for Lent. The registration link also has a links to Lenten devotionals and poems.

UA Christian Staff and Faculty Fellowship - Chapter 4 - Making a difference; and don't forget the book survey, 4/7

If Christians are informing their scholarship with their faith, what would that look like and what difference would it make? Christian Faculty and Staff Fellowship meets November 28

  I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and enjoyed the time off. We'll resume on 11/28 with a visit by Jennifer Waddell , Athletes in Action , thanks to Phil Bishop.   Next semester's book: Love Your God with All Your Mind: The Role of Reason in the Life of the Soul by J.P. Moreland (NavPress, 2011). The title is linked to Amazon. Make sure to get the 2012 version. It's an updated version of the book from 1997. Moreland makes the case for the intellectual appeal and rigor of Christianity. It has a cultural, worldview, and apologetics outlook and is relevant to us who want to be salt and light in the groves of academe. The book can be a basis for other readings we would do.   Looking ahead: I came across this announcement for the Dallas Conference on Science and Faith in January 2019 .
