Tell students about A Christian Theology of Personal Finance panel on 2/3 at 7 PM in the Baptist Campus Ministries chapel. Panelists are UA professors Bob Brooks, Sean Mobbs, and Alan Tidwell. I attached a flyer you can pass out.

Trillia Newbell, author of Sacred Endurance, is scheduled to join us via Zoom on 3/9 for a Q&A session about the ideas behind her book. It will be a Q&A session. If you have a question you'd like to ask, reply back to me, and I'll put it on the list.

Think about it

Christianity Today shared survey results showing a continuing decline in religious voluntarism.

  • "…35 percent of Americans reported volunteering for a religious organization last year, down from 38 percent in 2020 and 44 percent in 2017."
  • "Over three quarters of US pastors said they were concerned about developing leaders and volunteers, as well as people’s apathy and lack of commitment."
  • "Leaders suggested that former volunteers were attending church less and enjoyed having fewer commitments."

These happened on the day of our meeting

·         1905 Maria von Trapp was born. Yes, that Maria von Trapp.

·         1971 Food for the Hungry was incorporated.
