UA Christian Staff and Faculty Fellowship - Guest speaker: Peter Leithart, Theopolis Institute, 3/31

Come to the Christian Faculty and Staff Fellowship on Wednesday, 3/31, at 11:45 AM (done by 12:45 PM).

We have a special guest: Rev Peter Leithart, President of the Theopolis Institute. Here is some information from the Institute's website:

  • "The Theopolis Institute perpetuates the Biblical Horizons agenda of church reformation and cultural transformation into the future."
  • "We offer a vision that we believe can and should shape the churches of the future – a thoroughly sacramental and Trinitarian theology and church practice, solidly rooted in Scripture, combined with unreserved catholicity that draws from all traditions of the church."
  • "We accomplish this aim principally by providing affordable, graduate-level leadership training courses, focusing on biblical and liturgical theology."

Meeting logistics

We'll continue to meet on Zoom until it's clear that staff, faculty, and students are fully back on campus and pursuing their regular activities. I'll keep checking for announcements about that.

The Zoom link is: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/87919167217?pwd=cVJjbHhUaXhidllPMkM1UXVCbzc0QT09

You're welcome to eat your lunch during the session.

Items of interest

Book survey. It's that time of the semester when we think about a book to discuss in the fall term. Here is the link to the survey: https://forms.gle/iLbQFikwJNppJ4Pe6. I'll announce the book before the end of the term.

Back to the building: It looks like we get to meet face-to-face for the Fall 2021 term. I'm in touch with the Baptist Campus Ministries director, who has always been kind enough to provide a meeting room.

Last meeting: Our last meeting will be on 4/21 to correspond with the last week of classes.

These happened on 3/31

  • 1732. Franz Joseph Haydn was born. Mentor of Beethoven and Mozart, the oratorio, The Creation, was among his many compositions..

  • 1975. The Evangelical Union of South American and the Gospel Missionary Union merged under the GMU's brand. Today, GMU is known as Avant Ministries.
