UA Christian Staff and Faculty Fellowship - Christian apologetics and personal finance - Last meeting of the term

I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving break. 

Our 12/2 meeting will be the last of the term. Bob Brooks will discuss Christian apologetics and personal finance. You can get a head start with his paper on his personal website.

We'll start the Spring 2021 term on 1/13/21. I'll keep you posted on the feasibility of meeting face-to-face as we did in 2020 BC (Before COVID).

Speaking of the book for next term, Professor George Marsden, author of the book we'll discuss, was kind enough to agree to drop in on one of our meetings. He's looking at dates right now. 

We're in the Advent season, so I linked a set of Advent readings found at the Vanderbilt Divinity Library.

  • 1697. St. Paul's Cathedral in London, England was dedicated.
  • 1859. John Brown was hanged in Virginia after leading an attack on Harper's Ferry.

UA Christian Staff and Faculty Fellowship - Chapter 4 - Making a difference; and don't forget the book survey, 4/7

Christian Faculty and Staff Fellowship meets November 28

  I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and enjoyed the time off. We'll resume on 11/28 with a visit by Jennifer Waddell , Athletes in Action , thanks to Phil Bishop.   Next semester's book: Love Your God with All Your Mind: The Role of Reason in the Life of the Soul by J.P. Moreland (NavPress, 2011). The title is linked to Amazon. Make sure to get the 2012 version. It's an updated version of the book from 1997. Moreland makes the case for the intellectual appeal and rigor of Christianity. It has a cultural, worldview, and apologetics outlook and is relevant to us who want to be salt and light in the groves of academe. The book can be a basis for other readings we would do.   Looking ahead: I came across this announcement for the Dallas Conference on Science and Faith in January 2019 .
