On 11/11, we're looking forward to hearing from members of the Navigators International ministry team. They'll tell us how they're serving UA students. Joining us will be Barry McGlothin (director),  Karen McGlothin, Jessica Voltz, Edgar Voltz, Katie Price, and Nicole Luedeke.

Since 11/11 is Veterans Day in the US, it's good to remember the Campus Veterans Association at UA is a resource for your students who are veterans. 

These happened on 11/11

  • 1620. The Pilgrims signed the Mayflower Compact to create the first governing document of Plymouth Colony.
  • 1831. Enslaved preacher Nat Turner was hung because of his leading a rebellion of slaves in Virginia.

UA Christian Staff and Faculty Fellowship - Chapter 4 - Making a difference; and don't forget the book survey, 4/7

If Christians are informing their scholarship with their faith, what would that look like and what difference would it make? Christian Faculty and Staff Fellowship meets November 28

  I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and enjoyed the time off. We'll resume on 11/28 with a visit by Jennifer Waddell , Athletes in Action , thanks to Phil Bishop.   Next semester's book: Love Your God with All Your Mind: The Role of Reason in the Life of the Soul by J.P. Moreland (NavPress, 2011). The title is linked to Amazon. Make sure to get the 2012 version. It's an updated version of the book from 1997. Moreland makes the case for the intellectual appeal and rigor of Christianity. It has a cultural, worldview, and apologetics outlook and is relevant to us who want to be salt and light in the groves of academe. The book can be a basis for other readings we would do.   Looking ahead: I came across this announcement for the Dallas Conference on Science and Faith in January 2019 .
