UA Christian Staff and Faculty Fellowship - Expository apologetics, 9/23

Join us on 9/23 on Zoom at 11:45 AM - 12:45 PM for a UA Christian Staff and Faculty Fellowship gathering.

You're welcome to keep eating your lunch during the gathering.

We'll continue discussing Chapter 3 of Expository Apologetics: Answering Objections with the Power of the Word by Voddie Baucham Jr. Here are some Amazon links:

Our own Bob Brooks was interviewed on the podcast Aaron Beam Speaks. It's worth hearing if you're interested in how one's faith informs a person's decision-making. Faith-specific discussion starts around 24:17. Here's the link:  https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/episode-31-dr-robert-brooks-nobody-is-exempt-from-ethical/id1502160253?i=1000490993533

Phil Bishop shared a special treat. It's a free book, Where is God in a Coronavirus World by John C. Lennox. It's typically $5.99 on Amazon but can be downloaded from a link in the flyer. I got a lot out of his discussion growing from a reflection on the corona and the 2 crowns Christ-followers will wear.

These happened on 9/23

  • 1595. Fray Juan de Silva led the Catholic missionary effort in Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina.
  • 1857. Jeremiah Lanphier led lunchtime prayer meetings for business people that some say blossomed into the Third Great Awakening.
