Christian Staff and Faculty Fellowship - Resuming 8/26

We'll resume the gatherings via Zoom on 8/26 at 11:45 AM and end by 12:45 PM.

The BCM building where we normally meet is limited to 50 people who must make reservations to go in at specific times, so we want to help them prioritize the students. We'll continue on Zoom until we can get more people into the building. I'll keep you posted about our venue.

Our book for the fall term is Expository Apologetics: Answering Objections with the Power of the Word by Voddie Baucham Jr. Here are some Amazon links:

The CS Lewis Institute posted an entry about our calling to prayer that directly confronts the times when prayer seems a grind. We learned something of that from Brother Lawrence's The Practice of the Presence of God in our summer session, and this quotation brings some understanding about those times: "I have a notion that what seem our worst prayers may really be, in God’s eyes, our best. Those, I mean, which are least supported by devotional feeling and contend with the greatest disinclination. For these, perhaps being nearly all will, come from a deeper level than feeling."

These happened on 8/26

  • 1498. Michelangelo commissioned to carve the Pieta.
  • 1901. American Standard Version (ASV) of the New Testament was published.
